Caesar Salad, a parody - original work

Lakeland District Theatre

Westchester County, New York

Role

Original playwright & co-director

Date

Spring 2017

"CASCA: Gosh, [Brutus]’s like everybody’s new fave in Rome. He could…I dunno, stab someone like thirty times and they’d love him for it."

A farce of Shakespeare-via-Plutarch’s Tragedy of Julius Caesar. The scene is Rome, the year is blah-blah-blah and #CrownHimCaesar is trending on Twitter. In brave costume of toga and timberlands our actors take the stage to translate-best they can-the story of Orange Julius Caesar, backed by a medium, a puppy-dog (namely Mark Antony) and sometimes his wife as the punk conspirators Brutus and Cassius conspire to tear him down (quite literally. into pieces. on the floor.)
